Aren't humvees really sluggish at getting up to speed? I seem to remember hearing that from someone in the army.

Yeah, I'm still thinking about how to clearance them for up-flex. I'm either going to make bump stops to limit the up-flex, or reshape the inner wheel wells. The only reason I don't want to cut up the bed is because I'll have to lose those fender flares, and I like them.

well if your talking about the hummvee... it is a 6.something, but its a non turbo...

and tires cant be sluggish to get going... just have to have the power in the vehicle to turn them... and a 318 with the right gears ( i dont know what youll have) should turn them just fine

Yeah, I was talking about the hummer. I thought they were turbo diesel. They obviously need to slap a turbo on them!

As for my engine turning those tires... shouldn't be a problem. The axles right now have 4.10s in them... not the best, but they'll do for now. I'm eventually going to get 4.56s or 4.88s, but can't afford two gear sets and install kits right now.

yea, i have teh 4.10 and 37's, as long as you have the gear reduced low range 4wd lo, youll be fine... going doing the road in 2hi, it will be a little under powered, like me cause youll have the same setp as me, but you wieght less... so your fine

military humvee's have 6.5 liter diesel engine and they are turbo charged, but after all the the armoring and equipment your adding atleast 4,000lbs (depending on what armoring kit you install) so it it's slow as hell, without the armor and all the doodads it alot faster but still slower than you'd expect

i dont think the hummer that my department has is turbo. but it actually surprised me the first time i drove it. i expected it to be a lot more of a pig. of course it is stripped bare. it doesnt have all the armor and stuff like the active duty ones. i love that thing!! its so much fun to drive. i got some pretty wild looks driving around the county!! lol

ok guys im getting rolling on the decals so we will have them for the GTG. i need to know an approximate number of people who want one and how big do we want these to be. so anybody that wants one post up and let me know!

also did we ever decide on which option we were going for. i voted for the white oval but i dont remember ever getting to a clear consensus. i will check prices for all three options.
