i decided that i AM going to put the muffler back on, and tomorrow i am going to have a muffler shop fit on a bend to have it come out before the rear wheels and put a double chrome tip on it and hope it reduces the drone! if it does, the guy said for about $75 they will refit it and weld everything on.

Yea from all I've heard you need either to shorten the tailpipe or dump it past the axle to cut down on the drone. Other than that I'd suggest a different muffler like an 18" magnaflow, like wyseguy said I hope it helps.

 

is getting the stock pipe removed and having a shorter pip run out in front of my rear tire out the side not shorter? (no sarcasm intended) if it wont work i wont try, but thought maybe it might cuz it will be shorter?

 

You're right the pipe will be shorter, but before you spend anymore money take the tailpipe you have and cut it so it's dumped down over the rear axle like mine. Unless you have your heart set on chrome tips coming out the side that is?
