Default 99 cummins mod

I have heard you can put washers on the screws on the top of the injection pump on a 24 valve to increase the fuel flow, how complicated of a job is this? and what all do you need to do it , and what size washer does it take?

Diesel owners, is it necessary to start out in first gear with an older Cummins powered five speed manual trans? Have a neighbor who winds it out in compound (?) each time she drives by. Is she dreaming of an ICL license or just stupid?

It sure isnt the best idea to do it, there really is no need to even use first gear depending on how its geared and if you have a load or not

first gear?! you mean the idle in traffic gear?!

I NEVER use first gear unless idling in traffic.

I start in second with 0 throttle...just let the clutch out and torque gets it rolling.

Ditto. Only use it when CRAWLING in traffic, or if you have a pretty hefty load behind you, it's good to use, less stress on the clutch
