1982 dodge b150 225 slant 6 van replacing distributor

Trying to set newly installed distributor. Pulled #1 and it blows my finger off. But when it does it's pointing at #6. What am I doing wrong?

You have the distributor 180* out.

Ok, do I turn it to the right or left (towards the front of the van or the back)? Don't want to mess anything up.

Pick it straight up, then turn the ROTOR 180, drop it back down. Keep in mind, the rotor will turn as it comes up, and go back the other way when you set it down.

Does it matter if you turn it clock wish or counter clock wish?
