take it to the paint shop and ask them to do a color match with your truck, then give them 50 odd dollars it will cost to have it done professionally

it will make your life so much easier

walk in with the part and some cash, it wont require much prep work which is what costs most of the money, you can usually get the to do it for cash so they dont have to put it through the books. (e.g. pay govenrment tax.

If not just be careful what paint you use, someplastics will melt on contact.

Give me a break! Just buy a can of spray paint, be sure the back of the bug shield is free from grease, mold release or whatever, and paint it. This is not rocket science. Flex agent? I don't think so, if it flexes the whole thing would break too. How much did you pay for the shield? Bill

I am pretty sure that you will NOT be able to get a good shop to paint it for under $50, maybe $100. I say go here and buy the paint yourself, make sure you ask for the flex agent to be added to the paint, prep the part to be painted really good and you will be good to go:

You dont need flex agent. That was for urathane flexible bumper covers. The shields are rigid lexan or plastic. THe flex agent was added when sprayed to keep the paint 'soft' underneath so that it wouldnt crack when reassembling. It evaporates out of the finish within a week or two. Ive owned a body shop for over 30 years now. Paint is expensive, if you have a shop paint it, depending on color (like red) just pint of paint, clearcoat and associated thinners could be over $100 alone plus an hour or so labor. Shop applied will be lot more durable than spray cans. I had a guy back up his car over the front of the hood on my vette. The clearcoat is so tough, a little bit of wet sanding and buffing made it almost undetectible except for some very minor scratches.
