Default Paint peelin

I have a 1996 dodge ram Silverish/Greyish truck, and am just wondering what i can do to keep on the paint. All of a sudden when i stop driving i'll take a look and notice that there is a decent sized chip, and if i don't do anything about it it just keeps peelin.

You need to invest in a tube of "Touch-Up" paint, short of repainting the entire hood. If it's badly faded, a complete repaint may be your only recourse. The parts guy will need the paint code number, usually found on the door post for either the "Touch Up" route or the complete repaint....

I have a '94 ram 4x4 with blue pearl paint and for some reason the paint on only the bed is chipping off more and more each day! I don't think it is right because it is a dodge defect in the paint and i will be stuck paying for a new paintjob, when the cab is still in good condition!

All manufacturers are having paint adhesion issues these days. Some of the problem is some models are not clear coated soon after the base color. These are the ones where the clear is peeling off the color. I have stripped whole cars with a single edge razor blade in a few hours. THe other main problem is everyone is using gray primer/sealer and allowing it to dry too long before its painted, maybe by weeks. Red Oxide primer doesnt seem to have any problems. This is where the chips and peeling include the color, leaving only the primer. It generally not in all cars, but only certain models. SOme off the top of my head with lots of problems are Grand AMs, Cavaliers, Sebrings/ Intrepids, Neons, Taurus. Sometimes its only with certain colors also. BTW, I own a body shop and do a lot of dealers used cars / trade ins.
