I have 2004 Dodge Intrepide 2.7L 50,000 miles, have a loud whining noise coming from my engine compartment, gets louder and faster when I accelerate, has anyone had this problem ? PLEASE HELP ! I'M BROKE AND DESPERATE.[

Well thats very undscriptive complaint there. Number one, locate your problem, number two be more descriptive on your next post here. Other wordsit could be a pulley thats going bad. Ya wont know until you look. There are numerous things under the hood that can make a noise.

yep pully system,=alt., water pump, power stering, smog pump, a/c and idoler pully. turn the stiering wheel if i gets louder there it is. turn a/c on off, turn lights on off. these methids some times helps, some time not. dont mean to scare you but it could also be your trany, sorry.
