I have a 2000 Durango and The igniton locked up on me the key slides in and out with great ease but will not rotate forwards or backwards, when I first stuck the key into the ignition it had a ttight feel to it but now slides in and out with ease but is deffinately locked up any reccomendations on a fix?

 

All I can say is make sure the steering wheel isnt in a bind , rotate thew wheel left and right while trying the key, if not , youre drunk and its not your ride get out b4 the owner gets back !

if it aint under warrenty you might want to try taking it out yourself and checking the cylinder one of the springs for the cuts maybe jammed or it could need rebuilding a new cylinder coded from dealer is about 80 to 100 bones</P>

If yur wheels arent in a bind then..Now this might sound weird but its something that happen to my co-worker. The battery was bad and somehow it lock the ignition. She said the mechanic said it was something that the camary have..Beats me for what reason.
