Default Cooling System Q's

Is there a trick to filling these new cooling systems with the pressurized reservoir? Since I changed my antifreeze a few thousand miles ago, the system doesn't seem to pressurize. The hosesdon't get firm, is that normal? I can easily squeeze the hoses when the engine is running and watch the level in the reservoir go up and down. I really don't remember checking if that is how it was before I did the work. There are no fluid leaks, and coolant (not air)comes out of the bleeder screw when I open it. The level looks correct in the reservoir cold and hot, but I'm wondering if there might be an air pocket or something else that shouldn't be there and I'm not sureif I needto do anything about it. The subject vehicle is a 94 Intrepid 3.3.

An Air pocket would cause a engine to over heat.

When putting coolant in if its a standard system you should just be able to keep the engine at 1500rpms while you are pouring it into the radiator. As for pressurized systems you are better off using a flush machine when filling unless you want to fill it with a radiator hose off untill it fills up to a point then pour the rest into the reservior tank to finish it off, but you might need to keep addinguntil teh whole system is filled and also there should be a air bleed valve somewherewhen you get to that point.
