Default Posi_Trac Rear End

How can I tell if my 2004 Dodge has a positive traction rear end?

Eh... well... my favorite way is to stand on the brake and hit the gas to do a burnout... if you leave two marks, one for each tire, you've got Posi, if you leave only one tire mark... you don't. Hehehe! How creative am I? LOL!!

Well....LOL....I suppose that is one way.....

However, I would prefer to find out by the VIN or on an equipment plate on the truck somewhere......

You can run the VIN or jack up the rear end, spin one tire. If the other spins the same direction you are locked if not it is open or broken.

Call your local Dodge parts dept with the vin and ask them.
They will need the last 8 digits for sure, but they may want the full VIN.

I see that you have an 04 Ram, look in your glove box, on the bottom of the door there will be a sticker that will indicate what gearing your rear end has and if it is an Anti-spin or not.

Awesome!

Says it is ANTI-SPIN, and a 3.92 Ratio!

That is just what I wanted! WooHoo!
