dashboard crack!

RE: dashboard crack!
It is not anything underneath causing this-it is actually very common on older cars that don't even have air bags. The reason nobody at Chrysler will talk to you is because it only cosmetic, if it were saftey or powertrain they would try to help you out but trim stuff is 3/36K no Goodwill. It's just not worth it to try and make evrybody happy on stuff that has no impact on how the vehicle operates.

RE: dashboard crack!
Chrysler sucks! Chrysler sucks! and Dodge sucks even more. I have a dashboard that looks like a window that's had a truck driven through it. There are over 8 cracks, which now have adjoining cracks. Yesterday morning, I tried to adjust one of the cracks, which was sticking up at least 1/4 inch and it pushed down into the dashboard, leaving an 8" X 8" hole right in front of the steering wheel. Chrysler if full of crap, if they say this is an isolated problem. I personally know 3 other dodge owners that have the identical problem. Looking online, I see dozens of posts. Also, Armor All doesn't cause the kind of damage we're seeing. I've seen cracks from armor all and they have always been surface cracks. I've never put Armor All on my dashboard, but I have taken it to car washes where they have applied it.
My dashboard was creaking and squeeking since it was new. I took it in to the dealer twice and they said there was nothing they could do because they couldn't figure out where the squeek was coming from. Guess what? It stopped squeeking when the first two cracks appeared. It is poorly designed and the poor fit is causing pressure on the plastic, which causes the F'ing thing to crack when it expands from the heat.
All the service people at Daimer-Chrysler are giant penises.
