02 Stratus coupe spits out coolant going uphill
Hi, I have a 02 Stratus coupe 2.4 stick shift and it works perfectly both on the highway and city (btw, I live in Florida where roads are super flat as you may know) but recently I took it to great smoky mountain and I found that when I go uphill, if I stop the engine, the coolant overflows from the reservoir. The temperature gauge looks fine all the time which I think that the engine is not overheated, or at least the temperature indicates it is not. And also the coolant is within the normal range when the engine is running, but when I go uphill for a while and stop the engine, I can see the coolant level goes up in the reservoir and finally overflows from the overflow hose. I've touched the in and out hose from the radiator and both of them are hot. I was trying to search the answers from google but it was hard to find any of them relevant to my case. Somebody was saying that might be the radiator's problem if the car overheats going uphill, but since the temperature gauge looks normal on my car, I am getting confused. Did anyone ever have the similar problems before? I really appreciate any info that any of you could provide. Thanks a lot.
