Default Dodge DRB Codes

I have a 2000 Durango 5.9L with a Check Engine Light on. I did the key turn on off on off on thing and get the code P1740 on my odometer. I checked my Chilton guide and it doesn't list a P1740 Code under the OBD II codes. It says that I need to use a DRB II tool to get the codes, but I think I have it already. Does anyone know what this code means?

I've posted this in the Durango section as well, but I thought it might be the same for all the Dodges. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Default Dodge DRB Codes

yep got ya covered dude

p1740 is the tcc or o/d solonoid performance

set conditions are when the dtc will set if the expected engine rpm to output shaft speed rpm ratio is not acheived during tcc and/or o/d engagement. this indicates malfunctioning tourqe converter or overdrive clutch.

possible causes are tourqe converter/internal trans prob-o/d clutch/selas or valve body contamination/oil burnt or oil panhas excessive debris/cooler flow restricted oil pump or shaft/trans fluid inter gov pressure sensor signal/inter tcc solonoid

well hope it helped ya

good luck

P1740 usually means the torque converter and input shaft need to be replaced/resealed.
