'85 ram 50 'EGR CHECK' light came on @ 100k miles

'85 ram 50 'EGR CHECK' light came on @ 100k miles
Hello fellows.
I am a proud owner of dodge ram 50 made in '85. ANyways,today my odometer hit 100.000 miles and "EGR CHECK" light came on dash and won't go off.I looked up in the manual book that came with the truck and it says that this light come on automatically every 50.000 miles so owner would take it for checkup in dealership also to reset the light.
So i called dealership and few shops around.The cheapest 'light reset servise' i found was $75.
I asked guy in dealership "whatcha gonna do for those $75.He smiled and told me-put the scan tool on and reset the code for another 50.000 miles".
I left and started looking for the scan tool hookup but couldnt find it and autozone/adv.autoparts store have no clue what to do.Any experts out here,please help .I do take a good care of truck and know there is NOTHING wrong with the truck mechanically ..And i want this light to go off.The right way,not by taking bulb out or sliding foil under the light

On the dash just to the right of the steering columm is a blank switch cover (plastic cover for a switch hole) pop the cover off and look in the hole.... you'll see a small switch about 2 inches back.... if it's up, flip it down.... If it's down, Flip it up..... Light off!!!
