Default Help, Help, shift lever struck in park

Hi,
I have a 2002 Dodge Intrepid that is struck in park. The shift lever won't move at all, I' ve tried everything. If anybody has had the same problems, please inform me on how you fixed the problem.

look on the transmission.. you will find where the linkage cable connects to it.. i believe its on top on the intrepid.. its prolly gonna be a PITA ... but when you find it.. pull the nut off.. *i think its a 10mm* .. and see if you can manually shift the transmission thru the gears.. make sure to set the parking brake.. key does not need to be in the ignition.. and for god sakes make sure the car is NOT running.. if you can change the gears... that means the issue is in the shift linkage cable going from the shifter to the transmission.. there is also a pin in the shifter itself to keep the car from shifting w/o your foot on the brake.. make sure all fuses are good as this is done electronically..
