My truck is getting an engine code of P0551. I know it is a power steering switch failure, but i am not sure how to fix it. I have been on other forums and nobody seems to know. Can somebody please help me. What causes this problem, and it is it hard to fix, or do I have to take it to a dealer?

 

I had the same problem on my wifes Intrepid. If you look right under the lines that go into the power steering pump you will find the switch right there. It was my problem but I was told that it can also be a problem in the rack. I think mine was a 32.00 fix. I did end up changing the rack but it was a year later. That was a 270.00 fix. I hope yours is the switch. Good luck.
