Default Need help identifying AC Compressor part

Can anyone out there tell me what this part is? I assume it is some type of AC Compressor coil. I just replaced the AC compressor on my 2001 Dodge stratus 2.4 ltr with a reconditioned compressor and it did not include this component. I used this old component on the new compressor and I have verified voltage at the main plug but there is no voltage at the clutch. I also measured continuity of this component and it reads as if the circuit is open. I am thinking this component is bad unless I am totally off base.

Default RE: Need help identifying AC Compressor part

that is the a/c pressure switch, high pressure cut off. these tend to go out. its a switch that is open when there is too much or not enough pressure to save the compressor from failure. it will show open because the switch defaults open.
