around a year ago i bought a engine for a stratus that was said to work with a 02 from a dealer who got it out of a 05 .
i didn't get the engine put in untill that warrenty was already up .
but i did put it in a perfect body .
fit rite in with no modifications .
got to fire it up , nothing .
take it to a dealer , they say wrong engine for body year .
is this true ?
can my 05 2.7 dohc engine with 50 miles not work in my 02 ?
the engine taken out of it and this one are identical in size shape and apperance

 

I don't know much but I wonder if you may need a 05 computer to go with it?

are you still running the 02 pcm. thats were a problem might exist.. in 05 we use next gerneration controller,, ngc.. its a more accurate system compared to sbec.. the difference comes to the cam and crank tonewheels have more teeth compared to the 02 were it has less making ngc more accurate. also the ngc controller houses the trans controller in it also verses having both a pcm and seperate tcm.

 

so would it be possible for a 05 computer to be hooked up to a 02 harness for a 02 trans and 05 motor ?
and work of course ?
