when using a spark tester and turning the engine over, should there be continuous spark at the gap of tester? when i do it on my #2 plug i can make a one count between sparks. is this normal?
i thought it spun so fast that it should almost continuous? i also don't think it's real blue in color. thanks Randy

RE: testing for spark on a 1998 stratus es 2.5 v6
that is correct for the spark. it uses a cranksensor to tell the ignition when to release. (ex take a 6point star on a piece of paper draw a line at the 12 oclock position as the star spins in a circle the tips are the the ignition firing point (line one paper)as the star turns it would come into contact with the sensor at a fixed point causing a spark to to be released at that point) again that is a basicexample! if the spark was a continues feed there would be no break and there would be no way for a motor to run. so in essence to your question yes it normal for a break in spark.
