Default overheating 01 Durango R/T 5.9

hey Dodge Buddies my heat is not getting hot. The temperature gauge goes to the hot side, then it loses heat for about 2 mins then it heats back up. It's now overheating within 10 mins of driving. The t stat & water pump has been changed and still no good results. PLEASE HELP A DODGE BUDDY OUT!!! Thanks in Advance..

if you used a cheap t-stat like something from autozone...or.... it could be a defective t-stat i just had the same issue with inferior part it would get to the hot side before opening and not close until it would start getting cold also had no heat because fo this
