Default 2000 ram 2500 DSL no start

i am working on a 2000 dodge ram 2500 diesel with a no start issue, customer stated truck died while driving, he stated he had fooled with it for a couple of days trying to restart the truck with no luck he had it towed in and i found the transfer pump was bad. i put a new transfer pump on the truck and ive got fuel to the injection pump(at a rate of 42oz. fuel in the 25sec. pump prime within specs),and not a whole lot coming out of injection pump! is it possible that customer cranking engine with no fuel burned the injection pump up????

i can guarentie that the vp44 fuel injection pump is bad. the pump is a poor design and as soon as transfer pump goes out the inj. pump bites the big one. check internet for pumps the best place i think is called midwest fuel injectoin and for about 1200 you get a reman pump with the problem issues redesigned, new transfer pump and filter. also get a transfer pump relocation kit to mount on frame away from heat and vibration(also it makes these pumps easier to change because ive had some last a month and some many years) also mount a led in the dash and a presure sender in filter housing. if like my 99 mount a 1/8' pipe threaded oil presure sender with about about after a couple psi to open contacts so led turns off in dash and comes on when low presure. on my 99 the plug nearest to the motor on top of filter housing is presure after filter so you can even tell when filter dirty before it destroys another inj pump. a good web site is turbodieselregester.com and its a dodge cummings site with lots of info and good forums
