The rear wiper on my 2002 Grand Caravan won't stay on the window anymore. The hinge feels tight and the spring won't hold the blade against the window. Took the nut off the post but couldn't get the wiper off, and was afraid to apply too much force for fear of breaking the window. Is this a job for the shop, or can I expect to do it myself? It certainly doesn't look like a complicated mechanism.

 

The Wiper arms are usually Aluminum or pott metal , and the motor shaft it steel and the dis similar metals against each other corrode badly over time ... Try spraying penetrating oil or equivalent to try to get it to loosen up ... I've had to use a gear puller to get them off since yours goes thru the glass you will have to be more careful then on a standard wiper ...When you get it off be sure to put a good coat of never seize to prevent it from happening again
