Default New vs. Old 360

What is the difference between an 80 Dodge 360 from a Mirada and the current crop of Dodge Magnums? I know the new ones have fuel injection, but i've noted that suppliers list them different on rebuild kits, etc. I would like to build it for my 95 Dakota if applicable.

Thanks,

Ed

First off the motor mount are in a different location on the block. You will have to make or buy mounts for about $400.Second the 95 intake doesn't fit on the 80 heads.

Thanks for the response.

The existing engine is a 3.9 V-6, so the manifold is not really an issue, but the motor mounts definitely are!

Motor has been sitting on my equipment trailer under a tarp for the last 19 years. It was supposed to be installed in a 1978 Dodge Van to replace the 318 and I flat didn't have the time. I pulled the guts out of the 318, moving the 20foot equipment trailer loaded with race cars, parts, etc. on the move from Miami, Florida to Athens, GA. It made about 8 round trips. I then sold the Van.

Thanks again.

I am currently putting an 88 360 in my 87 dakota. We are making our own motor mounts, we could not find any mount conversion kits. It won't be that hard at all. It had a 3.9 in it as well.

Mini,

the only problem is my block/heads will not take the newer FI Intake. I want to stay with FI.

Thanks,

Ed
