i dont search anythign without VIN...in most cases, it is needed...so i dont look for things unless i have it.
P0XXX codes are universal for all OBDII vehicles
P1XXX codes are manufacturer specific
The reason they ask for the VIN is to establish vehicle make, year, & drivetrain.
P0442 is a SMALL leak. Make sure your gascap is on tight, and clear your code (or wait for it to clear itself).
Something that I see on this forum too much is people recommending that other people buy parts to TRY to fix a problem. What is the point in "throwing parts at your vehicle" just to figure out what the problem was. You are supposed to troubleshoot the problem FIRST, then buy parts to fix it. Not the other way around.
i have the same code in my 2001 neon, and both o2 sensors have been replaced and the cat has checked out fine so what could it be. i really dont care about it, car runs fine but the light is just freaking annoying.
