Default can a hemi replace a '98 360 cid ?

Cylinder #10 had a melt down and my 360 now runs as a V7. There is nothing wrong with the rest of the truck, new ones are too costly (especially while building a house). Has anyone replaced a 1998 360 with a hemi ?? I'm thinking the tranny would also need replacing.

After 102K of working, seems a new engine would be an economical solution.

Occassionaly pull 2 horses, boat, tractor - heaviest is 6000#'s.[:@]

You can do anything with enough money and a torch/welder set. Economically you would be better off getting another 360 to go in it. You would need the Hemi engine, wiring harness and computer at least, and Lord only knows what else.

Like Todd said, anything's possible with enough money and fab work.

You would be better off fixing up the 5.9! There are way more parts and people familiar with working on that particular motor! I had the heads crack on mine along with the gaskets...runs good now! I would stay with the 5.9, but I just say that because it has been around for so long and the hemi has only been around for 3 yrs....
