Default How long does it take for primer to dry?

How long should you let primer dry before you paint over it? I got some primer from Lowes that says fast dry for metal or wood. I painted my shocks with it just a little bit ago and wondering how long do I need to wait for it to dry before I spray it again with a layer of paint. It doesn't say anything about how long it should take to dry on the can. Should I paint over it when it's dry to the touch or wait longer? I'm hoping to be able to go ahead and get some paint on these things so I can get them back on my truck.

Really if it is just spray on primer, 20-30 minutes is when you can paint over it. Then after you get the paint on, I would let them sit for a day, then bake the paint on in the oven.
