Hello guys @ gals, I just got a 2004 neon sxt 9000 mi. It has been sitting in my Moms garage she's 95 yrs. old. That explains the mi. My problem is rats ate some of the wires going to the transmission sensors? Also a vacum hose.I spliced the wire with the same guage wire, fixed the hole in the vacum line. Problem is the engine light comes on. Auto store hooked it to there comp. the code said it is the gas cap or vacum leak. I put a new gas cap on @ the light stayed off for 100 or so mi.I am pretty sure there are no more vacum leaks. Could my wiring fix be causing the light? I appreciate any help I may receive.

 

vacumn leak is different then an electrical trouble . I'd double check the hoses those rats might have got a hole in another one ...

 

thanks bad venge. I inspected my vaccum hoses again today. I took a hose off so i could see the the under side, I found a pin size hole. Repaired it, reset the engine light. I think thatitsfixed now.
