Car not starting
Please help.....abt. 1 1/2 months ago, my car would not start. New battery, new plugs, many tows, and many suggestions later wont start again. Fuel pump is good, holds pressure. I am getting too much fuel while sitting and floods to where it wont start. Only way to start is to pull fuel pump fuse, hold pedal down while cranking, replace fuse, then it starts. Tried fuel injector cleaner.......car started for over 3 weeks. Went out to go somewhere....and NO start. Please help me. Is it electric ignition switch (I have spark), distributor, fuel injector? My brother who is a mopar or no car dude said rail with fuel injectors. Cant afford alot here. 98 dodge stratus es, 2.5l 6 cyl.

RE: Car not starting
Yah, it sounds like your injectors are leaking down. If it was fuel pressure regulator, it wouldn't have cleared up for 3 weeks after the injector cleaner. Sounds like your injectors might be hosed, which is not all that uncommon on those. Don't know if they can be cleaned or not, but it could be worth a try.

RE: Car not starting
Thanks.....do I need to add more cleaner to fuel? Should I have injectors replaced? I am totally stupid to cars (I knw where gas goes in and how to check oil). With it being a 6cyl., do I need more than 1 injector? I really love this car, never had anything go wrong till now.[&:]
