I have a 2000 Ram 1500 with a 5.9 . The trans. works fine in all foward gears but there is no reverse. I can hear it shift in the trans but it is as if the clutches are slipping. The trans has been flushed and serviced and the fliud levels are fine. The local trany shop told me that I need a new transmision . befor I jump the gun I want to see if this is something i can fix my self. I would assume that it is some kind of bad seal or O ring . I was looking to see if this would be something i could repair just by removing the valve body rather the entior trans. Even if I have to remove the trans its better than buying a new one. I dont see whay I need a new or a complete rebuild when all foward gears are working.
