Have been having a problem with my 2005 Neon SRT lately. For some reason, when I turn on my A/C only my low speed fans come on. Both fans are turning as well. I have looked at other Neon SRTs and everyone I have seen has kicked the high speed fans on as soon as the A/C is engaged. I looked at the FSM, and it only dictates that the fans are operating when the A/C is on, but doesn't dictate which speed the fans should be at. Whats even more ironic is that the high speed fans WILL come on after some extended driving. Almost like the PCM has a mind of it's own.

My question is there anything other than the PCM that would dictate which speed the fans are on? Items such as an A/C pressure switch come to mind but I have absolutely no idea when it comes to air conditioning.

i believe that the fan speed is based on engine temp.also i think there is a temp sensor in the radiator or next to the fans to tell the temp. underhood.if it's not overheating i don't think i'd be to worried about it.
