Default rebuild a thermo qaud

bought a use Thermo qaud from the junk yard to put on a 360 I'm rebuilding .People tell me that they are junk.Is this true ?and can they be rebuilt? What advice do you have...

Their plastic bodys are why they are often considered junk. The plastic sometimes cracks. When they are in good condition, they're great. The plastic keeps the fuel temperature down, it's a good insulator. They can be rebuilt, however they are more complex than the AFB or AVS carburators.

thank... is there any trick for inpection of carb body andwhat manufacture would you reccommed for the carb kit? I'm building a hi- way car that can pull trailer @ 70 mph. A dogde Aspen .
