BY THE WAY "GREAT SITE"
I AM LOOKING FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE HERE. I HAVE A 2003 DODGE RAM WITH A 5.7 HEMI IN PLACE THAT WAS IN A FLOOD. I NOW HAVE A 5.9 HO CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL TO BE INSTALLED BUT THE ENGINE CAME OUT OF A ROLL OVER AND THE BELL HOUSING ON THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. MY FRIEND HAS HAD A LOOK AND SEEMS TO THINK THAT THE BELL HOUSING IS BOLTED FROM THE INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION ITSELF.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THIS IS THE CASE AND IF SO HOW DO YOU SPLIT THE BELLHOUSING FROM THE TRANSMISSION.

bit of advice #1 STOP YELLING

#2 the bellhousing IS the front case half on some transmissions. You failed to mention which we are dealing with.

Do you have all of the electronics and wiring harnesses for a Cummins truck? They are completely different from a Hemi truck.

 

The both pieces have to be changed. the outer [part came off easy, it is the part of the bell housing that fits directly onto the tranny.

Yes, and Yes.
Basiclly you're talking about a rebuild.
The bellhousing IS the front case half. If you're gonna replace it, you may as well replace the synchros and bearings.
Then you'd have a new tranny.

 

I did a google search on it. New Venture gears site doesnt say anything about this tranny, but I didnt go that deep. but as long as the tranny houseing isnt fractured and all thats dammaged is the bell houseing you should be looking at some serious fun in the next few weeks after you get the engine in.

then after that you'll have a smile from ear to ear that ou wont be able to wipe off your face from the power of that cummins. . .I'm still wearing mine after 6 months of having mine and it's the 600
