Default How to replace hub bearings???

Short version...'02 Dodge Durango...got oil change and alignment at NTB...said ball joints and hub bearings needed replaced...took to dealership and they are replacing ball joints...but want money for the hub bearing.

So...my question is...how difficult of a task is this? I've changed the hubs on my Jeep before, but I'm guessing there's a little more to it after 20 years of automotive improvments. Does anyone know if this is an easy driveway install or what would be involved? Dodge wants 300 bucks or more to do it, NTB says $210...haven't looked for the parts, but just thought I would ask you guys first.

Thanks for any info.

I am not 100% sure about the Durango. But there are 2 basic designs, the "one piece" which you just take the hub off and replace the whole thing, thats how my neon is. Or you have to have the bearing profesionally pressed out and a new one back in. Call an autoparts store and tell them what kind of truck you have and they will tell you which kind you have. Either way its not that hard of a job, if you need to get it pressed though make sure you have another car to bring it to the machine shop. It will be cheaper to do it yourself than to pay a shop, even with a press, I think they charge like $10-$20 bucks for it if I remember right.
