Default towing capacity

hello to all. i am a newbie with an 04 stratus se and need some advice on spending the money on a tow hitch. now that i have sold my ford truck i am in the process of buying a little fishing boat. the boat probley weights about 1500 to 2000 lbs. with the trailer. would it be worth taking the risk of tearing out my transmission by adding a tow hitch to my stratus? does anybody now the maximum towing limit on the stratus is. a 4clyinder at that? thanks any advice would help. has anybody else ever towed with their stratus?

1000 lbs. And that is a bit much fer da 4 cylinder.

If you need your car don't do it. Go out and buy a $1000 truck instead.

Paint Sanford & Son on the doors and play it off as a joke!
