Default muffler or cat-back

I want to make my '02 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 motor throw out a good rumble. I've pretty much decided on the Flowmaster brand. Only question is: do I need the exhaust system that connects from the catalytic converter, or can I get the same thing with just the Series 40 or 50 muffler?

If somebody has an even better suggestion, please let me know.

Thanks,

J.P.

Straight pipes. It all depends on what you wanna do. Do you want some more HP, do you just want it to sound nice, How loud do you want it?

Straigh pipes.
What do you mean? Literally just the pipes?

Do you want some more HP, do you just want it to sound nice, How loud do you want it?
I don't need more HP, don't have any use for it. I just want a good, deep rumble to make heads turn. But completely legal. I don't want any tickets for it.

If money is an issue, you could get a couple resonators off the hemi Rams and just use them. If your Magnum doesn't have resonators. You can probably find the truck resonators as take-offs at local muffler shops.

I'd get a kit if money is not an object... I have a 3"in dual 2.5" out (brought down to dual 2.25" out) and love it. It is a 50 series flowmaster...
