Default when in neutral my wheels will drive????

ok so i jack up the rearend to see if the ring and pinion are the cause of the nasty noises, and when i put the damn thing in neutral it starts to turn the whells on me. is this normal(not from what i know, but im new to mopar ) and i did find out that the diff is just a screamy away. time for new gears the sad thing is i cant afford to do both front and rear so im gonna have to stay with the 3.90 for now.

but if someone can tell me whats up with the neutral thing please feel free im kinda worried. thanks

Default RE: when in neutral my wheels will drive????

back in the late 70's and early 80's i was involved with transmissions and they all moved the rear wheels when in neutral with the wheels off the ground. this came in handy as we were filling a rebuilt unit we would leave the rear off the ground and the wheel would start to move when the air bubbles were gone and the unit was almost full.
