Default stalls in reverse and neutral?????

[:@][:@][:@]i just finished rebuilding the engine in my 2000 ram 1500 5.9l v8 with a automatic tranny, I have run the engine and timed it corectly and it runs and drives in drive but when i shift into reverse or start the truck in neutral it dies almost like it was shut off. I have tested and replace the reverse neutral safty switch and no change. I have tested and replaced the throttle position sensor and still no cahnge. I am at my whits end here any and all suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

I'm wondering.

does the truck lurch hard when you shift into reverse. it could be that you have a bad shift soilenoid that is also in some way causeing your torque converter to lock up.

If it is a shift soilenoid wouldn't it do the same thing in drive. It does Lurch a bit but no more than it used to vefore the rebuild and also why does it do it in neutral. And the torque converter is not locked up with the engine fully hooked up in the truck I removed the bellhousing cover and the 4 bolts thast connect the drive plate to the flywheel\torque converter and the converter spins freely.
