I have a Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 . Can I put a 241 DLD model 272 ratio from a 1997 Ram 2500 Diesel 4X4 ? Mine is Squeeling like a pig. Thanks Oh I have a 318 with an auto trans

 

You can as long as the diesel also had an automatic. In 1994-97, they used a 29 spline coupling on the automatics, and a 23 spline on the manuals. From 1998-02, they used a 29 spline on both the automatics and the heavy duty manuals, but I believe kept the 23 spline on the light duty manuals.

You should be able to use any '94-'02 t-case from behind an automatic, and any '98-'02 from behind a HD manual.
