Default SuperTrapps

Has anybody used these? Im very interested in a set for my RAM. Always been the "be different" type, and everybody in this area (north dakota) uses Flowmasters or just standard duals with turbos or packs. I think these would look kick-*** on the RAM, plus the ability to alter the sound/backpressure intrigues me.

So, if anyone has used/has experience with these, lemme know?! Good or bad it'd be nice to have input before dropping the change on them.

Supertrapps are pretty good mufflers if you have a true race vehicle. They offer almost infinite tunability. In a street applications I dont't think they would be a good choice do to their sound, they don't really produce that low mellow tone that most people look for, it is of a higher decibel and sometimes a little raspy. I have used them in our track cars and they do produce good power. My suggestion would be to look into Gibson Exhaust systems. They make a very good tuned system that you won't see everywhere. I have a 2003 RAM1500, 4.7, and I am in the process of getting their headers and a single exit swept side system. This system exits out the stock location and contrary to belief it does look good with the 3.5-4" stainless exit pipe and it produces the best power range of any system on the market including dual rear exit systems. I recommend the full stainless system because it will hold up better in the long run under vibration stress. Nobody likes the rattling sound that some aluminized pipe welds give off after about 6-8 months, and if you scratch or gouge the aluminized pipe it WILL rust. Good luck with your system.
