Default Alarm questions..

Just got a general question:
How are the anti-theft/security systems (stock) on most DCX vehicles wired?
For instance, I have read that when you take out the radio on alarm-equpied Honda Civics, you are gonna also take out the alarm, as the ****-boxes have the alarm wired into the radio. Does DCX do this? Is this common in most normal cars? *Hopes not.. hopes this is just another case of Jap-crap at its best*
Thanks.

I am pretty sure the alarm is not located in the radio. I have never heard of the before. There is such a thing as an alarm on the radio that you need the code for, but not the vehicle alarm wired into the radio as far as I know. If you are looking to put an aftermarket radio in you will be fine.

If you take out the factory radio the alarm will not be affected. You can install an aftermarket radio with no problem. There is no radio code that you need to get the factory radio to play again if you were to reinstall it.
