Default Intake gaskets....hesitation

1999 Intrepid 3.2 120K

Had multiple misfires. Replaced plenum gasket and lower intake manifold gasket set. 2 new plug coils and 6 new plugs.

Problem: When first starting car, tach jumps up to 1700 then drops back down (don't remember it doing this before). Runs fine till warmed up. When warm and I'm driving down the road with my foot off the gas and then I step on the gas pedal.....the tach jumps up about 500 rpm, then returns to where it was.....with no gas pedal response at that point and for about 1" of further travel. If I floor it, then it kicks in. While driving on the highway with my foot steadily on the pedal....it seems okay. Any help?

Thought I had a bad fuel pump originally, so I replaced it. (Forgot to check tank for contaminants) (Sometimes hear a throbbing noise from the fuel tank...pump....like a heart beating) Related?
