Default Any help would be appreciated

I posted this message once with no replies......any info would be appreciated. Here's the original post.......

Hello to all. I have read some of the past posts to the list and it is very informative. I have a 1999 Dakota SLT extended cab with the V6 Engine. Here's my problem...

I'm driving down the road with my cruise control on and all is fine. All of a sudden the cruise drops off. I look at my instrument panel and the speedometer is at zero and my ABS and Brake warning lights are on. I look down again and the Speedometer is working but both ABS and Brake warning lights are still on. When I got to where I was going, I pulled the fuse for the ABS in the drivers side dash fuse access panel, the fuse looked good but put in a new fuse since I didn't have a meter with me to properly check. Start the truck again, and everything (warning lights) is working properly. Go back on the road and again the ABS and Brake warning lights come on but this time the Speedometer doesn't work at all. I'm thinking there is a common relay or sensor somewhere. What do you think?

I have a Haynes book but it does not show any schematics (that I found anyhow) for the
ABS/Brake light and speedometer.

Has anyone had this problem? Can you direct me to a good source for a
schematic diagram or a part that may have failed and where it is located?

Any and all responses are more than welcome and appreciated.

Thanks to all ahead of time.
Charlie

Try checking your vehicle speed sensor...my old gran cherokee did the exact same thing.
