Default Starter Dragging - Cheap Fix

got this 90 dodge luxury van from a friend. he is out of town - i need to sell it. has a 318 cu in. the starter is dragging. does anyone know what is wrong in there - or better yet, what is the internal fix that one could do. i have rebuilt a couple of starters (but many many years ago). in autozone, i see a brush set. or is it impossible to say what in there is the problem ???

thanxs for the reply; sound like the best idea.
actually i think i thoubleshooted wrong; the battery was weak and combined with a not so perfect connection, gave an idea of the starter dragging. and have not worked on Dodge's as much as others - do they do have a gear reduction in the starter (1990 dodge b-250 van with 318 cu in)
