I have a prob and hoping someone here can give me some insight. Ihave a 99 ram 1500 series, 181k miles. Yea i know i drive alotNo probs up until now. I have probs accelerating up hills. Seems like I am towing and lose speed. even the slightest incline. Also slow acceleration after 40 mph real slow even if it downshifts it still wont speed up. Lost compression?? I'd like some advice before i take it in.

Thanks in advance

Wow... that is alot of miles!! Possibly the Fuel Pump, because it's not giving enough fuel pressureat higher speeds, therefore the engine can't go faster. If you've never replaced it, it'sdone ALOT of work... LOL! That's my first thought...

I would still think it's the Fuel Pump... they tend to hum if they are really going bad. I might try changing Fuel Filter... if no fuel system maintnance has happened in 181K miles, the fuel system couldsimply be'dirty'.
