Default 1996 neon

i recently purchased a 1996 neon for a hundred bucks. when i bought it i remember hearing that the heads on most of the older neons warped and thus lead to overheating through oil and antifreeze mixing. i was wondering where i could get a fairly cheap head, or if maybe a newer more powerful neon engine (maybe an srt 4) would be able to be dropped in. if anyone has any answers i would appreciate it. thanks. spanky

It is not the head. The problem is the head gasket is bad and dodge knew it. The gasket blows out and in turn warps the head from the heat. The aluminum heads warp easly on a cast block. I beleve they put the bad head gaskets in 95-98.[sm=gears.gif]
