The truck is a 98 1500 360 auto. Heres the problem. After 5-6 miles the engine starts bogging down to 1500 rpm max. It will idle fine but it will only rev to 1500 rpm. If I let it set for a half hour it will run fine again for a while. The only code that shows up is for the speed censer. The speedo doesn't work untill 55 mph and the abs and brake lights are on in the dash. I had to have it towed home last week. It statrd and ran fine when we got it home. Thanks for you help.

my 98 5.9 does sort of the same. about 1/2 nile from my house in same spot everyday it bogs and sputters for about 30-50 seconds you pull over the go drive and its fine. untill next day at the EXACT same spot. let me know what you come up with

 

Sounds like yous should get your cat convertors checked. A simple exhaust back preasure check should let you know if the convertor is starting to plug up.
