02 Grand Caravan - Fan wont shut off
Howdy folks,
For some reason, the fan suddenly has kicked on to a high setting and wont shut off. I can control the heat and cold, as well as the direction (defrost etc...). When I turn the power to the controls off, the fan kicks air down to the passenger floor side at a high setting. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I checked for any vacuum line that might be disconnected and there was no problem there. Could it be the blower motor resistor? If so, is this the funny looking piece with two sets of wires running into a small box that has aluminum fins on the back? The box is located behind the glove box of my 2002 Grand Caravan.
Van fixed and good to go. The problem was the blower motor resistor module. It was a simple fix with the only difficult part of the whole operation being the ability to "locate" the module. Pending model or year of your vehicle, this baby can be as simple as hiding behind the glove compartment box, as mine was, or mounted who knows where on the firewall or HVAC or elsewhere. I mention this because this piece really does get around, which is no wonder others are not sure where to easily find this piece. If you own a 2002 Grand Caravan ES, LOOK BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX. Clean out box and remove the glove box lid (30 second job). Remove the two wire couplings and then the two 5/16 screws and replace (2 minute job if the dog leaves you alone). Something else worth noting. Many have mentioned this piece having coils, and the first module I received from the dealership was made up of coils and other pieces. My van however needed a module that has aluminum looking spikes almost 2 inches long on one side, and what looks like a small computer board when you take the lid off the module. The difference of modules depends upon the abilities of your heater/air system. Thanks for your help on this issue Casper.
