Default Hemi check engine light?

The check engine light has come on now for the 2nd time in 2 months. First time was the gas cap, I have a feeling its the gas cap again. I'll know more when I get home. Any information on this problem? I think twice in 2 months is a problem!!!

Did you replace the stock gas cap?

The dealer replaced the gas cap last time with a new one. They traced the evac system presure loss back to the cap. Could this presure sensor be tooo sensitive?

hmm... how do the threads feel? maybe they're wrong and the cap isnt even getting tight. You never know with assembly lines these days. The machines are supposed to be calibrated every so many uses, but sometimes they skip it to meet deadlines.

The new gas caps don't have threads anymore, they are 1/4 turn caps. We do see quite a few cap failures causing evap small leak detect.

thanks for the feedback. I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow. The code off the odometer was P-0440, evap system leak detected.

dodgemech- you have seen these failures, what do you think is causing the problem? are the cap seals bad or is there something else within the evap system that is a weak link?
