Welcome to Dodge Forum. Tell your friend to use a calculator when figuring his mileage, cause there's NO WAY a 4x4 QC is getting that kind of mileage unless it's running downhill all the time. But 9-11 MPG is not right either. Have you looked at tuning it up?

 

NO HEAVY FOOT AND NO OFF ROADING!

I SUGGESTED TO INSTALL K&N FILTER AND WAS TOLD "IT WOULD VOID MY ENGINE WARRANTY BECAUSE CONSIDERED A MOD?
THE MANUFACTURES EMPG IS 16 CITY AND 23 HWY!
I WOULD BE HAPPY WITH 16 HWY, NOW <11 MPG.

WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE?

 

My '03 2500 Hemi QC 4x4 gives me about 13.5 mpg consistently, and I tend to have a heavy foot. Something doesn't sound right, course like Todd said, your friend that claims as high as 26mpg is halucinating. I can't quite get that with my 3.2L Intrepid! Hell, I get 12 when towing my heavy car trailer with a rearly 2 ton B-body loaded on it!

 

ATs have a lot of rolling resistance compared to street tires. Replacing them with all season radials might get you a couple more MPG.

 

I have been told adding K&N filter or changeing the stock exhaust, although will improve mileage, will void my warranty?
Service Manager at the local dealership told me this, so I cancelled my K&N filter I had ordered!
BFG's make truck look awsome and are excellent in the mud and snow!
I had 245/75/17 Michelin all seasons when I bought the truck, still got <12 MPG!
Sounds like HEMI 5.7 better on gas then 4.7 Magnum? Hard to beleive but many have told me this!!
