From what I have read on another forum, the car is not driving as many "daily miles" as it did during the Mobil 1 test. This means the results are not truly comparable based on an equal test. Driving 3000 miles in 1 month is easier on oil than 3000 miles in 3 months. The oil is spending lots of time "sitting" in the pan where the contaminates are not filtered, and they break down the oil at a faster rate.
